Unusual Yew, Elm, Fruitwood and Laburnum Primitive Windsor Armchair c.1820
A handsome primitive Windsor armchair of unusual form and exceptional colour and patina. Made from a variety of woods, the dished seat of elm, the tapering, outswept arms of laburnum. The remainder, including the multiple-vase shaped splat, made from a mixture of yew and fruitwood. Slightly smaller in size than many but a charming, idiosyncratic chair with immense appeal.
Probably English, circa 1820.
Dimensions
95 cms high, 54.5 cms wide at the arms, 44 cms deep. the seat is 40 cms high
