A handsome Welsh Side Table, made from dense, native oak. The twin plank top has a moulded edge, above a single drawer and shaped, undulating frieze, with ring and baluster-turned legs joined by stretchers.
The brassware, whilst not original, is old.
Probably Neath or Swansea valley, circa 1760-1800. The profile of the leg turning is almost identical to that on a potboard dresser base we sold over a decade ago, which came from this area.
